NEBC Women’s Ride (Finally!)

On Tuesday I was finally able to do the NEBC women’s ride. Every other Tuesday it’s either been raining, or I hurt my back, or Ryan was in Toronto so I needed to get home for the dog.

The biggest issue is the fact that I cannot get to the ride if I take the train home first. The ride starts at 6, and I get home around 5:30, leaving no time to get the bike ready and drive. If I were able to drive into work then it might be a bit managable, but right now my doors don’t lock, and I hate driving to work.

On Tuesday I opted to ride really easy into work. After work I rode out on Mass ave to the bike path, then out to Lexington where we meet up for the ride. I joined the slower group and decided to stick to riding sweep since I was gunning for 60 miles on the day. The route we did was 20 miles, but afterwards I wussed out and called Ryan for a ride. I have no idea what the route is like from Lexington to my house, and I didn’t feel like finding out in the darkness.

The ride to work, the ride to Lexington and the actual ride with the group was pretty easygoing for me. But, it was still 50 miles, and I was pretty tired.

I didn’t ride yesterday due to illness, but with the weather being way over 90 outside, I opted to ride this morning on the trainer instead of doing it after work today. I only did a 20 minute TTish thing, but I’m still feeling it now.

Here’s the data from the rides on Tuesday:

I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get out again for this ride, but hopefully I can figure out a better way to either get to Lexington or get home from there.
