Day, uh, 5?
The days are all getting jumbled on me more and more. So, I think day 5 was last Sunday, in which case we did jack shit except for go see Pacifc Rim (highly recommended, by the way) then watched Red (also recommended) in the hotel room followed by Cabin in the Woods, which is not recommended. At all.
There was some food in there and maybe walking around a bit, but it wasn’t that great outside and we were dead tired from walking around Georgetown.
Day 6 was Monday, so we met up with the realtor to actually pay her, then got dropped off at Straits Quay, I think. By the time we got there it was just about lunch-time, and we wanted to go to The Library, but they weren’t quite ready for customers. So, we walked over to Tesco, then back to The Library for food. This did not go well. I’m planning on writing a few words about all of the different restaurants we went to, so I’ll just say that The Library was very disappointing.
We took a cab into Georgetown and got dropped off at Komtar, which is where the government buildings are, as well as a shopping mall, etc. The mall was pretty depressing with all of the shops closed, and we couldn’t figure out how to go up more than a few levels in the 64 story building, so we left and walked around a bit.
Thankfully Kashmir was awesome. We got the usual dishes we order in the states to compare; saag paneer, tikka masala, naan, pratha and samosas. Highly recommend that place.
…is when we took a cab around the entire island, and that, my friends, is what I’m going to talk about in the next blog post, probably sometime tomorrow (or tonight for the EST folks).
…is today, technically. It’s currently 6pm here and we’re about to head out for dinner in a bit. Since Ryan was at the office here doing work-related things and getting free Thai food, I spent the day hanging out at the local Starbucks with the laptop avoiding housekeeping, until the battery died (and I got sick of the shit-slow internet) then getting lost in the mall looking for the Diesel store I had been to, once, and finally in the hotel room getting some much needed work done for my clients.
